Please note - that Art/Music is on Monday, Gym is Tuesday and Friday.
In January, we will begin learning how to write our lowercase letters. Each week, we will practice 2 letters and sounds. We will be following Fundations letter formation and will not be in alphabetical order. We will begin with t, b, f, l, h, k, n, m, i, r, u, p, j. b
Please continue to reinforce holding the pencil properly and writing letters from “sky line to plane line” or top to bottom.
We are continuing with our numbers and begin patterns.
We will celebrate the New Year, Feast of the Epiphany, Winter Weather/Animals, Martin Luther King Jr., and Feast Day of St. Francis de Sales.
1/11 - 1/2 day.
1/12, 1/15 - no school.
1/19 - Baby Bottle Dress Down Day.
Continue working on your child’s independence - unpacking and packing their school bag, folder and lunch box, putting their jacket on/off, etc.
Read with your child every day! Review the letters/sounds of the alphabet. Ask your child questions about their day and what they’re learning about! Have them answer you in complete sentences.
Remind your child to raise their hand and wait their turn.
Take your child to Mass on Sundays and practice their prayers.
Reinforce being kind to others and being a good friend.
Establish and keep morning/evening routines including bedtime.
Work on fine motor skills such as cutting, gluing, drawing, coloring, using play dough.
Please label your child’s items especially their sweatshirts!
Sneakers with Velcro are preferred.
Children will be marked late after 8:00am. Dismissal is 2:20 pm, 11:50am on 1/2 days.
Lunch is only needed on full days. We are a nut free school.
Please let us know about birthdays a day in advance. Store bought treats must be brought in such as cupcakes, donuts. Fun plates or napkins are appreciated. No goody bags, gifts or juice boxes are necessary.
