*Throughout the year, students will have reading skill assessments that cannot be studied for and may not be announced. These assessments serve as a way to check the student’s understanding of the reading skill we have been working on throughout the week. The assessment requires students to apply their understanding of the skill, rather than memorize information from a study guide. You may review the skill of the week at home if you choose.

Many of the students are missing earbuds or have broken the pair that was sent in at the beginning of the year. Please ask your child if he/she needs a new pair and send them in ASAP. Thank you!

Religion:

There will be a prayer test on the Hail Holy Queen on 5/3. Students have a copy and we are praying it each day during Religion. Students will need to fill in missing words (from a word box). You can find a copy of the prayer here

Social Studies

Spelling words will be posted here every Friday. Students must write all 12 words for spelling homework
For homework, students must complete 3 activities from the
Weekly Spelling Homework Choice Board that is due EVERY Friday. This is also glued into the cover of their Spelling notebook.

Each week we will be learning about prefixes, suffixes, root words, or synonyms and antonyms. The spelling words will all contain the vocab skill we are learning for the week. Focusing on specific word parts will help the students develop their vocabulary and understanding of breaking down words.
