Nursery B

Teacher: Mrs. Marianne Caruso

Aides: Mrs. Erin Hernandez & Mrs. Katelyn McCann

 We have marched into March!

March began with a discussion about weather. The children learned a fun song to help understand the phrase “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Every day we decide it it is a “lion day” or a “lamb day” based on the weather.

The two other main topics this month are St. Patrick and Easter. As Catholics, Easter is our most special celebration and the children will learn about Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection (on a three-year-old level, of course!)

Please note the following dates:

Wednesday March 20th: Report cards are digitally sent home.

Thursday March 21st: Report card conferences. AM: 12:45-2:45 and PM: 6-7:45. Parents will be seen according to their scheduled appointment times.  This is a half day for students. Short day friends have 11:30 dismissal and full day friends have 11:50 dismissal.

Tuesday March 26th: Last day of school before Easter break. Classes resume on Monday April 8th.

During this month, we will  be covering letters Rr-Tt. It’s always a great idea to review the letters with your child to further reinforce them.

Religion

Religion is a very big part of the Nursery curriculum and is not only actively taught daily but also infused throughout all other lessons. We do have a religion curriculum with pages that will be sent home each week. Parents/caregivers can see what the children learned in class and there is a home-school connection page where parents can reinforce what their child has learned. The children will also learn what it means to be a “follower of Jesus”, and part of learning about making good choices is thinking about what Jesus would do or want us to do. In addition, our youngest members of the school will learn about all of the religious holidays on a level that they can understand.
