Uniform FAQ

Approved Uniform Shoe Styles

St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy believes that clothes do not define a person. The wearing of a uniform allows everyone to be seen for who they are, not by what they have. The purpose of a uniform is a means of consistency in student dress while keeping costs to a minimum. It also reduces the problem of competitive dressing. Students, unless otherwise notified by the administration, will wear the school uniform.

By sending your child to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy, you are agreeing to have your child wear the uniform that has been selected. Students are expected to be in complete uniform at all times unless something unusual happens and a note is sent in by the parent.

Jewelry is not part of the uniform. Students may wear one simple bracelet and one necklace that is kept tucked into the shirt. Girls may wear one small post-earring in the lobe of each ear. Hoop earrings or dangling earrings are not permitted. Boys are not permitted to wear earrings. Students are not permitted to wear any makeup including eye makeup. Girls may wear light-colored nail polish only.  No dark colors or neon colors are permitted. Acrylic, fake, or nail tips are not permitted at any time. There should be no writing on body parts (hands, arms, legs, etc.) Both boys and girls are to have moderate, neat hairstyles. Boys may not have hair covering their ears. No student is permitted to have highlights or dyed hair.  Hair should be natural in color.  Mohawks and shaved designs are not permitted.

If there is a question concerning hairstyles or nail polish color,  the decision will be up to the discretion of the administration.

Students failing to conform to uniform regulations will be given an infraction or out-of-uniform notice. If the problem continues, they will be given detention.

Please note that all parts of the uniform must be bought from our vendor: Flynn and O’Hara.
