Dear Academy Community,

After taking a look at the weather report for tomorrow (Snowfall starting in the morning and continuing until 1 pm with 5-6 inches of snow predicted) it has been decided that tomorrow Tuesday, February, 13th 2024 will be a Snow day here at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Academy. For the first time in 5 years (March 4th, 2019 to be exact) St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy will be having a traditional old-fashioned snow day. 

After speaking with our Board Chair Mrs. Agoglia we both agree that it is nice that our children although it might not be every snowfall get to experience the old-fashioned snow day that so many generations of students got to experience. So tomorrow is a day to sleep an hour later, read a book, go sledding, do some I-Ready, make a snowman, study for a test, help a neighbor out with shoveling snow, and make some snow angels. Please note that other snowstorms in the 2023-2024 school year may result in remote instruction as every day off must be made up.  

 Due to the snow day the following changes will be made

• The AFA Pancake Breakfast/lunch has been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 14th. 

• Paul Effman Band scheduled for 2/13/24 is canceled and  will now be made up in the Spring of 2024

• The parish Children at Play for Tuesday 2/13 will be canceled

• Our school year for grades 1-7 is tentatively scheduled to end on Thursday, June 20th (One of our emergency snow days). We hope to announce Step-Up dates for our Early Childhood classes and a calendar of the final weeks for Grade 8 at the end of March. 

All Students may wear their 2024 CSW Shirt, an old CSW shirt or a gym shirt on Wednesday 2/14. If a child wears snow boots to school they must bring a change of sneakers/shoes.
