Dear Parents,

This week in Hispanic/Latin culture we celebrate Carnaval. This celebration is similar to Mardi Gras, French for “Fat Tuesday” in which we as Catholics celebrate the end of Ordinary Time and go out with a “bang” by eating lavish foods before we begin a season of solemnity by fasting and abstaining to bring us closer to God.
