Dear St. Francis de Sales Catholic Family,
The long awaited last day of school is fast approaching! The 2019-2020 school year is drawing to a close, this year of course is highlighted by the COVID-19 Pandemic and the move to duatrance learning. Yet it is also highlighted by the response of a resilient student body, a dedicated staff and a supportive community of families and parishes. Thank you again for placing your faith in Saint Francis and for entrusting your children, your prized treasures, to our care. On behalf of the entire school community, we wish you a very happy, healthy and safe, fun-filled summer vacation. The school offices will be open on various days over the summer, please refer to the calendar on the website for hours.
Congrats to the Class of 2020 who graduate from St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy on June 26th. We wish them all the best as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
A Few Farewells: Congratulations are in order to one our Kindergarten teachers Mrs. Sally Quinn and one of our 1st Grade teachers Mrs. Tara Davan who are both giving their last homework assignments this week. As these two dedicated teachers of catholic education retire this year let’s continue to say congratulations and thank you for over 60 years of service to Catholic education.
See below some issues and topics that will help all be successful during the last week of the school year.
2020-2021 School Year: St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy, in partnership with our pastors and Board of Directors, is looking to the future with confidence and planning for the day that our students will return to our building in September. We look forward to hallways and classrooms that are bustling with the noise, smiles and energy that make our school feel like home to our students. Come September our school will be ready with new resources and protocols that will be needed to ensure the health and safety of our students. Let’s remember that we are in this together and that the learning will continue.
This Thursday I will be hosting a Zoom Webinar at 7pm to discuss the guidelines that we have been given so far and how we expect to plan this summer to address the forthcoming guidelines presented to us by the State, city, and Diocese.
You are invited to a Zoom webinar.

Step Up: Heading to the next grade is a big step and we like to celebrate it at St. Francis! At the close of our school year our Nursery, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classes are invited to “Step-Up” to their next grade level. It’s a tradition to end the school year and the students love moving up to the next grade. Although we will not be able to have these ceremonies in person this year we are currently planning very special virtual Step-Up ceremonies. Please find below the dates, times, and Zoom links for your child’s step up. Please note that only the child and his/her family should use this link. The step-up will be recorded and shared with families so other family members can see it after the ceremony. There will be a waiting room in which you will need to be approved to come in so please use either the child’s name or family name to enter the room. Please note the password for all of the Step Up Ceremonies will be “SFDS2020”
