SFDS Week of November 25th 2019

Dear Academy Families,

Happy Thanksgiving!

A houseful of noisy people, cousins playing together after not seeing each other since the last holiday, lots of food served on fancy plates and silver.  Thanksgiving is the universal holiday. It welcomes all. We gather together, not out of media hype or commercial conditioning, but from a personal, conscious need to acknowledge all that we are thankful for and treasure.

My hope for you and your families is that your Thanksgiving will be safe and enjoyable.  Best wishes as you celebrate this holiday.

Please take a look below to see what is going on for the week of November 25th.

Early Childhood Registration: As we begin to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, we want to ensure that our plans to maximize the benefit to your child/children. Two weeks ago we sent home letters of intent for any current Nursery and Pre-K student here at St. Francis who plans on attending St. Francis in 2020 as a Pre-K or Kindergarten student. Those forms are now past due.  As always, we thank you for your dedication and support to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy. If you have any concerns that we may address, please do not hesitate to call us or email us.

After Thanksgiving  a letter will be sent home to families of current students to see if any siblings of current students will be joining our Early Childhood. Please send in all letters of intent as soon as possible  as we will begin open registration in Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten early in January.

We are happy to announce that starting in September 2020 our Nursery program will be a 5-day half-day program. More information will be following in the coming weeks.

Toys for Tots: With the Christmas season approaching, as we look forward to the birth of our Lord, we should remember those less fortunate than us. In the spirit of giving, we are asking that students donate a gift for other children. Please bring in an unwrapped toy or game as soon as possible. All donations will go to children in need. Thank you for your generosity.

Yearbook Ads: We are now beginning to sell ads for this year’s yearbook. On Wednesday (1/8) all yearbook ads/dedications are due. No orders can be taken after 1/10/20.

Lunch Duty:   We are in need of some parents to help volunteering for our lunch periods. If you are VIRTUS trained and are able to do lunch duty, we certainly appreciate it. Parents we appreciate all of you signing up for Lunch Duty.

We can always use help!

Please be aware you are not guaranteed to have your child’s class every time you sign up.  We do our best to accommodate whenever possible, however there will be times you will be assigned other classes when you sign up.  There are also many times our teacher like to stay with their class for lunch.
