SFDS Week of June 18th (Last Week of School)

Dear Families,

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up,brushes you off, and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail…

Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers, Grandfathers, Godfathers, Uncles, and special men in all of our academy family. Don’t forget that this Sunday at 9am is the annual Father’s Day Beach Mass on Beach 129th Street. Don’t forget to bring a beach chair.

The long awaited last day of school is fast approaching! The 2017-2018 school year is drawing to a close, and from all indications, it has been a very productive one. Thank you for placing your faith in Saint Francis and for entrusting your children, your prized treasures, to our care.  On behalf of the entire school community, we wish you a very happy, healthy and safe, fun-filled summer vacation. The school offices will be open on various days over the summer, please refer to the calendar on the website for hours.

Congrats to the Class of 2018 who graduate from St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy tonight. We wish them all the best as they move into the next chapter of their lives.

A Few Farewells: Congratulations are in order for our Kindergarten teacher of 19 years, Mrs. Elaine Smith who will be retiring at the end of this school year. We know she will have a wonderful time being with her grandchildren, but we will miss seeing her each day!

We also would like to wish good luck to Ms. Helene Hamilton on her next chapter. Ms. Hamilton is semi-retiring and hanging up her whistle here at St. Francis, but we wish her the best of luck as she continues at St. Mark’s.

Good luck and best wishes to one of our 3rd grade teachers, Ms. Amanda Finlayson, who at the end of this year will be returning home to her family in Colorado. We know she will continue to positively influence the lives of so many students, just as she did here. We will miss you, Ms. Finlayson!

Box Tops: This week a ziploc bag went home with your child to begin to start collecting box tops over the summer for our fall contest during the 2018-2019 school year. We had a very successful collection this year and know next year we will do even better. As always thank you for all your support.

FACTS Management: One of our primary goals next year at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy is to concentrate our efforts on improving the business side of our school. By taking advantage of the security and convenience of payment processing and information technology offered by FACTS, we remain committed to this goal. Tuition payments for the 2018-2019 school year can be paid online, by phone, or by mail. You may also sign up for autopay as well. Only in an emergency will payment be accepted in the school building and/or rectory. Email invites will be going out to returning families next week.

You will realize these benefits by using FACTS for your tuition payment plan:

Payment Dates: Automatic payments can be made from a checking or savings account.

Enrolling in FACTS: You will receive an email invite next week from FACTS with information necessary to enroll.   Included in the invite will be the website you will need to access.

Convenience & Security: Along with multiple payment plan options, your payments are processed securely through a bank to bank transaction.

Consumer Account: You may check your personal account or make payments online from the convenience of your home or office anytime.

With FACTS, the school maintains decision-making control. As always, we will continue to work with families should special circumstances or “hardship” cases arise during the school year.

On to what is going on this week at St. Francis…
