And just like that, the first week of October has flown by! Next week we kick off our Terranova testing for grades 3-8. Students must be prepared with sharpened pencils each day. Testing will run for approximately two hours a day from Tuesday, October 10 until Friday October 13th. Students are encouraged to be well rested and eat a good breakfast before the test. While students should not be overly anxious or nervous about this exam, it is important to keep in mind that these scores (Grades 6-8) are sent to the high schools during the application process.
Please take a look at this weeks blast as their is a lot of important information.
On to the next week here at the academy.
Columbus Day: Just a reminder that we are off this Monday October 9th. Enjoy your long weekend!
Grades 1 and 2 Field Trip: As our third through eighth graders are busy this week with Terranovas, our 1st and 2nd graders will have a break from their books as they go on their Field trip to Green Meadows Farm. Please refer to the permission slip about this field trip this Thursday 10/12.
Winter and Summer Uniform: Due to the unusually warm forecast (multiple days over 75 degrees) predicted for next week and Grades 3-8 taking the Terranovas, we are allowing students to continue wearing full summer uniform from October 10th-October 13th. Students may choose to wear their winter uniform if they would rather, but it cannot be a combination of the two. Your child(ren) can either wear full summer uniform or full winter uniform. You may decide which would be best for your child.
Jacket Orders: Last week you received our school jacket order forms. Get ready for the cold weather and help support St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy by ordering a St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy jacket or sweatshirt. Absolute FINAL orders are due next Friday October 13th. Thank you as always for supporting St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy.
Option C Gradebook: As we finish the 1st month of the school year please if you haven’t already, log on to the parent portal of Option C to check on how your child is progressing this year. This is a great way to see if your child is missing any assignments. You should have already received usernames and passwords. Please contact the main office via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Books and Materials Fee: Just a friendly reminder that all Book and Materials Fees are due by Monday October 16th along with the 4th tuition payment. The fee is $150 for each student (PreK-4) and $200 for each student in Grades 5-8. Please remember you can also look at your tuition balance through the Option C parent portal as well.
