Dear Academy Families,
Next week might be a short one but we do have many things going on! Please take a look below to see what’s happening:
Thanksgiving Mass: Please join us on Wednesday 11/22 at 11:00am in St. Francis de Sales Parish Church for a mass of Thanksgiving. Just a reminder that Wednesday is also a ½ day with a 12pm dismissal.
Tuition Arrears: This Tuesday tuition arrears reports will be going out for those families that are in arrears. Please be mindful of the fact to keep your account up to date for all tuition or any outstanding fees. Please remember that report cards are not distributed unless your account is up to date as of 11/15/17. Any issues please feel free to be in touch.
Confirmation Proximate Preparation: Please note that tomorrow 11/18 all 7th grade students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2018 here at St. Francis are expected to attend their Proximate Prep Session at 5:30pm mass followed by presentation and dinner. Any questions please contact Mrs. AnneMarie Greene at the Religious Education Office.
Special Performances: This week our students have the opportunity to see theatre in action. Grades Pre-K through Grade 4 will be seeing Willy Wonka on Tuesday while on Wednesday Grades 5-8 will be seeing Shakespeare in ACTion. The junior high preformance is apart of our Stages on the Sound Artists in Residency.
Check out the Art: We were so excited to continue art to in our curriculum this school year. Please check out Ms. Mangano’s class page to see what our students have been creating in Art classes since September. Their work has been beautiful and we are so proud to have it displayed throughout the building and on our school website. Thank you to Ms. Mangano for all of her great work!
Save the Date PDHP Parent Workshop: Please join us on Tuesday November 28th at 6pm for a special PDHP parent workshop. The topic of this workshop is Claim the Name: Bullying or Bad Behavior. The Workshop will have discussions and activities for parents designed to recognize the difference, protect their children, and effectively address a bullying and cyber-bullying scenario.
Christmas Show: Yesterday a note was sent home explaining this year’s Christmas show. Any questions about tickets please call the office. Any questions about costumes or dress please contact Ms. Mangano at email@example.com
Early Childhood Registration: As we begin to prepare for the 2018-2019 school year, we want to ensure that our plans maximize the benefit to your child/children. Last week we sent home letters of intent for any current Nursery and Pre-K student here at St. Francis who plans on attending St. Francis in 2018 as a Pre-K or Kindergarten student. Those forms are due next week. As always, we thank you for your dedication and support to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy. If you have any concerns that we may address, please do not hesitate to call us or email us.
After Thanksgiving a letter will be sent home to families of current students to see if any siblings of current students will be joining our Early Childhood. Please send in all letters of intent as soon as possible as we will begin open registration in Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten early in January. This is especially important to do for next year’s Kindergarten class.
Lunch Duty: We are in need of some parents to help volunteering for our lunch periods. If you are VIRTUS trained and are able to do the lunch duty, we certainly appreciate it. We are continuing to assign lunch duty using a web-based service called Sign Up. It enables those who want to do lunch duty to sign up for slots on specific days with email reminders. It is our hope this will help with the number of cancellations and no shows from families.
To sign up for lunch duty please use the website: Lunch Duty Sign Up
1) Click the link above to see our Sign-Up on Sign Up
2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.
3) Sign up! It’s Easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on Sign Up Volunteers, thank you so much for all of your help!
Box Tops for Education: Hopefully you have been clipping box tops at home as our second contest is set to begin. This contest’s prize will be a movie party for the winning class. What’s a movie without popcorn?! The contest begins now and will run through February 27th. Let’s try and double our last contest! If you use the Box Tops app, those tabulations will be counted.
