Happy Thanksgiving and SFDS Week of November 26th

Dear Academy Families,

Happy Thanksgiving!

A houseful of noisy people, cousins playing together after not seeing each other since the last holiday, lots of food served on fancy plates and silver.  Thanksgiving is the universal holiday. It welcomes all. We gather together, not out of media hype or commercial conditioning, but from a personal, conscious need to acknowledge all that we are thankful for and treasure.

My hope for you and your families is that your Thanksgiving will be safe and enjoyable.  Best wishes as you celebrate this holiday.

Please take a look below to see what is going on for the week of November 26th.

Chicken Finger Day: Just a reminder that this Tuesday 11/27 is our monthly Chicken Finger Day.

8th Grade Dinner Dance Meeting: Eighth grade families are invited to join Mrs. Martello and myself to the first Dinner Dance meeting on Tuesday November 27th at 6pm please note this is a makeup of the meeting that was postponed due to bad weather last week.  It’s our hope that we can decide chair people for various committees, kick off fundraising for the event, and choose the theme of the event.

Early Childhood Registration: As we begin to prepare for the 2019-2020 school year, we want to ensure that our plans maximize the benefit to your child/children. Two weeks ago we sent home letters of intent for any current Nursery and Pre-K student here at St. Francis who plans on attending St. Francis in 2019 as a Pre-K or Kindergarten student. Those forms are now past due  As always, we thank you for your dedication and support to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy. If you have any concerns that we may address, please do not hesitate to call us or email us.

After Thanksgiving  a letter will be sent home to families of current students to see if any siblings of current students will be joining our Early Childhood. Please send in all letters of intent as soon as possible  as we will begin open registration in Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten early in January. This is especially important to do for next year’s Pre-K class.

We are continuing to assign lunch duty using a web-based service called Sign Up. It enables those who want to do lunch duty to sign up for slots on specific days with email reminders.
