2020 8th Grade Recommendation Request Form
Primarily, we are advocates for our students and we fully believe that their success is our success. We take the writing of recommendation letters very seriously. Thus, it is immensely helpful to us when students deal with procedural issues in a highly organized manner. Recommendations reflect not just the quality of the student, but also the integrity of the teacher and, ultimately, St. Francis de Sales. We are obligated to be objective and specific about a student’s fitness for a given high school; if admission departments learn to distrust the praise from an SFDSCA faculty member, it puts the entire school’s reputation in jeopardy. This damages the prospects of all SFDSCA students seeking admission. Please use the following form. Just remember that we need at least three weeks’ notice to make sure the recommendation gets to the high school on time.

Xavier High School
Families will need to register for virtual events through our Inquiry Form at www.xavierhs.org/inquire.
Xavier Scholarship Exam (HSPT) – administered in-person at Xavier on Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, December 5. Each testing session is limited to 150 applicants. Applicants considered for academic scholarships typically score in the top 5-7% on the HSPT and are straight-A students. Applicants for a merit scholarship must submit Xavier’s required online application by November 13, so that they can register online for this exam. Applicants who take the HSPT at Regis High School, Fordham Prep, or St. Peter’s Prep will automatically be considered for a Xavier merit scholarship (they cannot take our Scholarship Exam), provided that they’ve given consent for Xavier to obtain those results from any of those schools. Applicants taking the HSPT at any of the above schools have the same as all other applicants: November 30, 2020.
Families can access the required admission application through our website at www.xavierhs.org/apply. Also, families can access information regarding financial aid at www.xavierhs.org/financialaid. The financial aid application is available in English, Spanish, and French. Xavier is proud to offer nearly $3.9 million in need-based tuition assistance to our students for the 2020-2021 academic year. The strict deadline for both admission and need-based tuition assistance applications is November 30, 2020.
Xaverian High School
Xaverian will be sending out a weekly admissions E-News for any 8th grade student who might be interested. If you would like to be added to the email list, please email Xaverian at firstname.lastname@example.org.
